Mechanical Engineering

Henry Williams is a PhD student in the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. His research focuses on sustainable solar development, specifically the co-location of solar and agriculture. This project intends to bridge the gap between engineering and environmental policy, and it aims to influence current industry practices through partnerships with regional solar developers.

Growing up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Henry was surrounded by oil and gas before finding his passion in sustainable energy. He attended the University of Tulsa, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he ran cross country and track and graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering and a minor in Spanish.

Henry moved to Ithaca in August 2021, his first time in New York. Since then, he has enjoyed going to the farmer’s market, window-shopping in the commons, and attending local festivals and events. On the weekends you can find him playing guitar, running, and thrifting. Henry is looking forward to joining the Flora Rose community!
