Flora Rose House

The Program

The Flora Rose House is the last of five houses to open as part of the Residential Initiative at Cornell University. The house system aims to enhance the undergraduate experience by fostering smaller communities and by creating casual learning opportunities integrating living and learning in one environment.

The program has many benefits, including:

  • Live-in House Professor-Dean, professional staff and graduate resident fellows to mentor and support students.
  • Twenty-four house fellows, primarily faculty members, who will affiliate with each house.
  • A strong in-house governance structure that promotes student leadership and involvement.
  • Diverse program offerings responding to student interests. These may include film series, in-house performances, seminars, advising and career-counseling services, and dining discussion groups.
