House Fellows

House Fellows are active community members affiliated with a specific House in the West Campus House System.  House Fellows contribute to the intellectual and social life of the House through programs, activities, discussions, screenings, workshops, arts events, etc.

The garden’s natural areas program stewards 3,400 acres of biologically diverse nature preserves, representing nearly all the natural community types and rarest plant habitats in the central Finger Lakes region.

Filiz Garip is Professor of Sociology at Cornell University. She is affiliated with the Center for the Study of Inequality and the Center for Population Research at Cornell.

Cynthia Hill spent the better part of a decade participating in projects in molecular, micro, and immunobiology labs and was on the path to becoming a research scientist before ending up in the doctoral program in STEM education at Tufts University.

Judge Scott Miller is the senior presiding judge of Ithaca City Court and serves as acting county court judge for the Tompkins County Court. He received his B.A. from Cornell in 1990 and J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1995.

Mert Sabuncu received a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. He then moved to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to do a post-doc at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL).
